Hida Mountains

The Hida Mountains (飛騨山脈 Hida Sanmyaku) is a Japanese mountain range located in Nagano Prefecture.

Unite for the Universe

The N.E.S.T. Advanced Research Facility was located at the Hida Mountains, and they did research on Project: Unite, resulting in Optimus Prime being able to maintain the upgrade granted by Jetfire when they battled The Fallen.

Megatron, not knowing the details of Project: Unite, sent Bludgeon with a Decepticon force to get the results of Project: Unite from the facility. Bludgeon depended on the uneven terrain of the mountains to establish stealth, but it was for naught as an envious Starscream altered the N.E.S.T. forces to the Decepticon presence. Realizing the betrayal and the actual form of Project: Unite, Bludgeon ordered a retreat, only for the entire Decepticon force to be buried under collapsing snow and ice. Bludgeon survived the ordeal, swearing revenge on Starscream as he erupted out of the snow. The Secret of Project: Unite
