Honorary Autobot

Thanks for twisting your ankle, losing your car, and risking your life to save ours. Here's a medal.

If you do a good deed for the Autobots, such as saving their lives, don't be surprised if you are named an Honorary Autobot. The exact requirements and privileges that go along with the title are unclear, but it's likely that once you've risked your life for the Autobots, you'll be called on to do it again.

At great risk to themselves, Spike Witwicky and Carly traveled to Cybertron to retrieve the Dinobots and the rare element Cybertonium to heal the Autobots from a deficiency of the metal. During this adventure they were chased, shot at, imprisoned and nearly crushed. Upon their return, Optimus Prime named them Honorary Autobots during a short ceremony and gave them shiny medals. Marvel The Transformers comics

Honorary Autobots appeared exclusively in the UK portion of the Marvel Comics continuity.

Carnivac and Catilla helped out the remaining Wreckers when they fought Skids's dream-generated monsters, thereby betraying the Decepticon faction. Springer offered them a place among their ranks as Honorary Autobots. Catilla accepted, but Carnivac declined, stating that he wanted to join only on his own terms as a Decepticon. Survivors!

2005 IDW continuity

Ratchet informed Hunter O'Nion, Verity Carlo, and Jimmy Pink that they were being returned to their regular lives. During the previous days they were chased, shot at, almost blown up several times, and nearly buried alive. The humans were surprised, particularly Hunter who thought that after all they'd gone through the trio had been given Honorary Autobot status. Escalation #1
