The child (子供 kodomo) is a young male friend of Tony who is also easily impressed by giant robots from outer space. He lives on a small island off the United States coast.

The child and Tony were extremely impressed by the three Decepticon Headmaster Juniors' surfing ability, and even more so in their Headmaster armor, but the encounter turned sour when they and a group of friends were taken prisoner by the Decepticon Pretenders. Taken to a small coastal cave, the kids were guarded by Wilder and Bullhorn. The Autobot Diver was soon added to the hostages, but he gave his watch to Tony, instructing the young boy to hold it under the water and press a button to generate an ultrasonic signal. The signal alerted the other Autobots, and Ginrai was able to rescue the hostages. Tony was swiftly reunited with his mother and got to cheer on Ginrai as the Autobot battled with King Poseidon.
