Ian Akin (born July 28, 1959) is a comic book inker who occasionally also pencils. He started buying comics in 1970 and began an obsession with sequential art, eventually resulting in his first inking work in 1978. He and Brian Garvey formed an inking team a few years later, their first published work together being on the Marvel Comics title ROM Spaceknight in 1982. They would work together for the next ten years, collaborating on inking comics for both Marvel and D.C., including Iron Man, Firestorm, and Marvel's What If..? line. The pairing disbanded in 1992, but Akin continued inking on titles such as Professor Xavier and the X-Men, Barb Wire and Len Kaminski's Purgatori: Empire for Chaos! Comics. He has recently branched out into website design (he designed Brian Garvey's site) and is the creator behind the webcomic Idiot Force.
