The Island of Misfit Tech is an island (duh) from the Rescue Bots portion of the Aligned continuity family.

Remote and isolated, the only way to the Island of Misfit Tech is by teleporting them through the Beam Box. It has become most useful for keeping dangerous technology in a safe place, though judging by the number of toasters and computer keyboards there, it may have been used for general tech disposal at some point. It's generally assumed to be a myth by those not in the know, which is probably helped by the use of memory-erasing earmuffs on anyone who learns of it without the proper clearance.

Items sent to the island included a prototype Scrapmaster, Security Droids, a paint cannon robot, a hovering tree feller, a baseball launcher, and metal-eating insects. When the rescue team captured a rogue mechanical bull, it was dispatched to the Island of Misfit Tech, but accidentally took Cody Burns along for the ride. Escaping the bull, he was pursued by some of the other lost tech on the island. Heatwave and then Kade Burns were both sent there individually to look for him, in the process accidentally allowing the Scrapmaster to escape through the Beam Box. The trio eventually found each other, and returned to Griffin Rock with the bull and paint cannon so they could deal with the Scrapmaster. The Island of Misfit Tech

Vigil was later shipped to the island, The Vigilant Town but escaped from it, having left its corporal form, when it tagged along with a stabilizer that Boulder, Graham, and Cody picked up from the island. No Place Like Dome

Notes

[edit]
  • While the location of the island is not revealed, the fact that it's night there while it's day in Griffin Rock suggests it's in a completely different timezone.
