In early 2018, Hackensack managed to secure Karen Fishook to return as "Queen Spacela" in the new Space Battle film. After he saw a biographical film about Starscream by Thundercracker, he saw a potential market opening for Cybertronian cinema and contacted the Seeker to propose making a new film with him.
