Jae Lee

Jae Lee (born June 22, 1972) is a comic book artist. He was born in South Korea, and his family emigrated to the United States in 1977. He cut short art school to go work for Marvel Comics, illustrating stories for Marvel Comics Presents and working on X-Factor and Namor. When Image Comics started up, he pencilled and inked on WildC.A.T.s and Young Blood before creating his own comic, Hellshock. In 2003, he illustrated Dreamwave's Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover. Later in the '00s, he penciled on the comic adaptation of Steven King's Dark Tower, and has continued to illustrate comics for Marvel and occasionally other comic publishers.

His style of art is often dark in theme and design. He received both positive and negative criticism for his artwork on Transformers/G.I. Joe, which is regarded as beautiful, but was found to be too dark and somewhat muddy, sometimes making it difficult for readers to distinguish what was happening in certain panels within the story.

He is not related to Pat Lee or Jim Lee.
