Jaguar

Jaguar is a Predacon from the Beast Wars Metals portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
HE JOCK IT MADE OF STEEL

Whatever happened to Jaguar (ジャガー Jagā) to make him lose his marbles is unknown, but this guy didn't just snap, his mind completely shattered. Now believing himself to be on a divine mission, Jaguar seeks to slaughter both the Maximals and the Predacons, making him a danger to both factions.

And dangerous he is. Jaguar is fast, coordinated and a deadshot with his twin pistols. Even in close range fisticuffs, few can match his reaction speed, with every missed blow leaving them open to a brutal, merciless death. No prison can hold Jaguar and even armies have failed to stop him.

Ultimately, Jaguar's relationship with his father, Ravage, is not in particularly good shape, with the decorated Decepticon veteran disowning his disgraced offspring.

EATS SUSHI FROM A PAIL
HE FATHER NEVER REALLY LOVE HIM

Jaguar was leader of the Predacon Special Force known as Ebony. Beast Wars Metals #3 After losing his mind and slaughtering civilians of both Maximal and Predacon ilk, Jaguar was ultimately captured and imprisoned. While incarcerated, his father, the highly decorated former Decepticon Ravage, was selected by the Tripredacus Council to track down Megatron and stop the Beast Wars on Energoa. While Ravage was inspecting the troops he intended to take on the mission, Jaguar escaped from prison.

His reunion with his father didn't go well. Jaguar laughed at his devotion to duty and mocked his troops. Ravage vocally disowned his son and ordered his troops to kill him. Jaguar proceeded to slaughter the troops and his father. Before leaving, he promised his father's corpse that he would bring peace to the universe by ending the Beast Wars himself. Beast Wars Metals #2

Jaguar arrived on Energoa and immediately slaughtered almost the entirety of the Predacon forces, including Terrorsaur, Quickstrike, and Megatron (or so he thought). He then left to deal with Dinobot, who was recovering from injuries in an anthropoid village. Jaguar attacked the village to draw Dinobot out and promptly killed him.

Optimus Primal, arriving too late, swore to avenge Dinobot's death and the pair fought their way into a cave. Jaguar blew a hole through Primal's chest, but Primal was able to lodge him in the cavity and then rip both his arms off. Before Jaguar could recover, Primal blasted him with his gun and the dead maniac went tumbling down a pit. Beast Wars Metals #3

Sometime later, Megatron freed all the sparks devoured by Rampage and used them to revive all the dead Predacons as zombies. Inadvertently, this brought Jaguar back to life, and he immediately aimed for a rematch with Primal. Tigatron interfered, however, and used his sword to first slice all of Jaguar's bullets in half, and then slice the lunatic in half clean down the middle. That finally did the trick and Jaguar was defeated once and for all. Beast Wars Metals #5

YAHMMMAAHOAAHOAAAUGH!
  • Metals Jaguar (1999)
    • ID number: X-9
    • Accessories: Tail-whip, left & right pistol barrels
Ravage's Transmetal Beast Wars toy was repurposed as his son in Japanese manga continuity.
Beast Wars Metals Jaguar is a heavy retooling of Deluxe Class Transmetal Cheetor, just as Ravage's robot mode CG model in the show is an altered Transmetal Cheetor. He transforms into a robotic big cat, with flip-out thrusters for a third "flight" mode (not, as in the episode, into a cassette tape that plays wicked 1980s style electric guitar, for obvious reasons). His forearms each have a spring-loaded flip out pistol stub, which can be extended with add-on barrels that clip to his rear legs in beast mode. His tail also can detach to form a whip-weapon, but he doesn't hold it very well.
This mold was used to make BotCon 2001's version of Tigatron. The original version was used to make Armada Cheetor, and as the basis for the non-toy character Cataclysm.

Notes

[edit]
  • "Jaguar" (ジャガー Jagā) also happens to be the original Ravage's Japanese name. The manga gets around this by referring to Jaguar's father as "General Jaguar" (ジャガー将軍 Jagā-shōgun).
