James Brown (born May 3 ,1933 - December 25, 2006) was an influential American singer, songwriter, and bandleader. During his lifetime he helped contribute to the development of several forms of music, leading to his earning the title "The Godfather of Soul".

Brown's "I Got You" is one of several songs used in the 2007 Transformers film, but for reasons unknown was not included on the actual soundtrack.
