Jean-Christophe Clément, is a French actor and writer, former journalist and radio host.

After trying his hand as an impersonator, he decided that he wanted to be an actor. He then took acting lessons and performed in several theater plays and played in various TV series.

Alongside that, he started to attend various dubbing sessions, on the advice of one of his friends. There he met several voice directors. One day he decided to give it a try, starting by discrete voice roles. Nowadays he is the regular French voice of Adam Kaufman and one of the voices of Eddie Steeples.

He related that at his debuts, he passed voice tests two times under the voice direction of Emmanuel Jacomy, but was intimidated by the latter and failed to play wholeheartedly, uneasy. After a discussion with him, Jacomy kindly gave him a third chance and Clément managed to play thoroughly. Emmanuel Jacomy became one of the actors he admires the most then.<ref>Interview with Jean-Christophe Clément (end of page)</ref>

He is the replacement voice of Shrek, when his regular French voice (Alain Chabat) is too busy or unavailable. He dubbed the ogre in the Donkey's Christmas Shrektacular short and in the video games of the franchise.

He is also very active in voice-over for documentaries and advertising.

Notes

[edit]
  • In November 2022, he participated in famous game show Questions pour un champion (the French equivalent of Going for Gold). When asked about the name of the leader of Autobots in the Transformers saga, he immediately skipped the question! However, he reached the final but lost 12 to 8 after a close game.
