Jed is an alien from the Marvel portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

A poor bounty hunter, barely kept his family fed.

Jed is from Osaplam, a town on planet Cheyne. He is acquaintances with Joe.

Jed and Joe were hunting down Junior, the son of Hud, realizing the danger the Vrobians served. Jed was uncomfortable with the idea of killing a child and pleaded with Joe to stop, but Joe wasn't convinced, knowing that even the child was guilty of being an evil psychic vampire. The point was moot, as Dogfight and other Autobots, not aware of the true self of the child, intervened and forced the cowboys to retreat.

The next day, Hud went into Osaplam with Dogfight under his thrall. Jed was furious at Hud's presence and wished to kill him but was restrained by Joe, who knew that Dogfight was a force to be reckoned with. Regardless, Thunderwing and his Decepticons soon arrived for the Autobot. Hud fled the scene, allowing his control over Dogfight to slowly break. After Thunderwing realized the uselessness of a mind-controlled Autobot, he left. Joe, with Jed, then came to the fallen Autobot and explained to him the true nature of his hosts.
