Juda's Bridge

Literally burned his bridges.

Juda's Bridge is supposedly the only bridge leading to an abandoned Cybertronian stronghold that was occupied by Optimus Prime's Autobots after they were defeated and forced to leave Earth by the Decepticons.

[edit]

When a group of Autobots led by Kup arrived on Cybertron and linked up the Autobots already stranded there, they decided to set bombs along Juda's Bridge in case they needed to blow it up to keep the Insecticon swarm from reaching their base. When a group of Autobots was attacked by the Swarm, they retreated to the bridge, intending to cross it and then have Perceptor shoot the bombs with his sharp-shooting skills to blow the bridge so the Insecticons could not cross. When Perceptor was knocked out, Sunstreaker stayed behind to detonate the bombs manually, destroying the bridge, a good chunk of the Swarm, and apparently himself. All Hail Megatron #8

For three years, Sunstreaker lay in the wreckage of Juda's Bridge, alive, his mind replaying a recurring loop of specific memories. Replay

Then, Ironhide arrived at the wreckage, retrieving Sunstreaker's remains, and taking them to Alpha Trion for repairs. Ironing Out the Details

Years on, Sunstreaker would use the memory of his time spent lying under Juda's Bridge as a measuring stick to compare against other hairy situations. The Waiting Game

Notes

[edit]
  • Juda's Bridge was not actually named until Spotlight: Hoist.
  • Sunstreaker's sacrifice and the destruction of Juda's Bridge would be rendered meaningless in a later issue of All Hail Megatron, when in a blatant continuity error, the Insecticon Swarm would reach the Autobots' base by crossing a different bridge, contradicting the earlier-established fact that Juda's Bridge was the only bridge one could cross to reach the base.
  • Juda's Bridge is named after the Biblical [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Judas Iscariot|{{#if:Judas|Judas|Judas Iscariot}}]] in reference to Sunstreaker's betrayal of the Autobots. Hey, maybe it leads to G'th Semane?
