In regards to Transformers, founding studio member and Kaname mechanical designer Shōhei Kohara, responsible for mechanical designs on the aforementioned anime, designed the earliest Transformers character models that formed the basis of the designs used in the cartoon series and comic books at the animation studio.
A fellow founding member of Kaname, Kazuhiro Ochi, was credited as an Assistant Animation Checker on The Transformers: The Movie.
Additionally, Kaname provided animation work on the original cartoon and The Movie as a subcontractor for Toei Animation, with uncredited contributions from Kaname animators Mayumi Watanabe and Eiko Yamauchi.<ref>Animage, January 1986</ref>
