Kaneto Shiozawa

Kaneto Shiozawa (塩沢兼人 Shiozawa Kaneto, January 28, 1954 - May 10, 2000) was a veteran Japanese voice actor who was born as Toshikazu Shiozawa. He was often notable for his ability to switch his voice and mannerisms from cool and calm to fierce and hot-blooded almost instantly, where many of his roles consisted of Inspector Shiratori from Detective Conan/Case Closed, Rei from Fist of the North Star, M'Quve from Mobile Suit Gundam, Prince Demande from Sailor Moon R, Aries Mu from Saint Seiya and also did a lot of voice work for video games such as Rival Schools, Metal Gear Solid and the Super Robot Wars series, in addition to games that included characters he played on TV.

In the world of dubbing, Shiozawa has dubbed Luke Skywalker in the TV Asahi dub of the original Star Wars trilogy, Raphael in the VHS dub of the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon, the title character of Edward Scissorhands and George Newman in "Weird Al" Yankovic's film UHF, as well as "Weird Al" himself on the albums released prior to 2000.

At approximately 4pm on May 9, 2000, he fell down the stairs in his home and died of a cerebral contusion at 12:54am the next day.
