After the Decepticons devastated New York City, Karen's family was forced to live in camps. When life there became too dangerous, the family took up residence in a war-torn building with others. Things turned from worse to worst when Skywatch soldiers, hunting for Bumblebee, blew up Karen's similarly colored car and the building they were in began to tilt under its weight due to heat damage.
