Kris Díaz is a human from the Rise of the Beasts portion of the movie continuity family.
"I never gave up on you. I called you every night."

Though he doesn't look so different from any other Nintendo-playing, Power Rangers-watching boy his age, Kris Díaz is often the subject of concern from his older brother Noah due to an unfortunate (and expensive) chronic medical condition known as [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}sickle cell disease|{{#if:||sickle cell disease}}]]. Despite his illness, Kris looks out for Noah just as much as Noah looks out for him. Fiercely protective of Noah, Kris is always ready to cheer his brother on and give him the energy he needs to keep going in times of crisis with an invigorating pep talk.

He takes the existence of giant transforming alien robots remarkably well.

Having spent the night challenging Bowser on his Game Boy, Kris (or rather, his self-appointed callsign "Tails") paged Noah ("Sonic") to ask for breakfast. Noah had "seasoned" (in layman's terms, burnt) the eggs, but Kris accepted them anyway. During his breakfast his illness flared up on his right wrist, forcing him to switch his fork to his left hand to eat. This did not escape Noah's attention, who lightly chided him for hiding it. After their mother left for work Noah took Kris to the hospital for treatment, but they were refused on the basis that their bill was three months overdue. Kris accompanied Noah to his subsequent failed job interview, and tried to cheer him up on the subway ride home by citing some trivia about Superman's job hunting woes. Noah didn't share the sentiment, however, and proceeded to attempt a car theft so he could pay Kris's hospital bills.

A few days later, Noah abruptly informed Kris that he would be away for some time on important business. The conversation was interrupted by a loud noise from outside, which had been caused by the Autobot Mirage during his bungled attempt to eavesdrop on their talk. Though Mirage quickly reverted to vehicle mode, Kris had already seen him, blowing the disguise. Kris then announced he'd be packing their bags and following them to Peru, but Noah managed to talk him out of the notion by reminding him someone had to take care of their mom in case Noah didn't come back. Kris reluctantly agreed, and instead made Mirage promise to keep Noah safe no matter the cost, a promise Mirage readily agreed to. Kris remained in contact with Mirage (now dubbed "Knuckles") remotely during the Autobots' adventures in Peru through a walkie-talkie, which the Autobot had installed into his arm.

When Unicron approached the Earth and Noah was ready to give up, Kris reached out to him through Mirage, encouraging him to keep fighting, which gave both Noah and Mirage the strength to get back up. When Noah finally returned from Peru, Kris happily hugged his brother. At a subsequent job interview, Noah found himself meeting with Agent Burke, who knew all about Noah's adventure and offered him a position within G.I. Joe, promising that the government would be fully funding Kris's treatments going forward as thanks for his saving the world. Rise of the Beasts

Kris Díaz's involvement in the preceding events, or events mostly similar, were also chronicled in the book "Mission at the Museum".

Notes

[edit]
  • Like Noah, Kris can be surmised to be from a New York City family of Puerto Rican background.
