The Lazer Lance is the only weapon capable of stopping the fearsome monster Zod.

Lazer Lance was hidden near Skull Mountain by Magmar, with only Scooter knowing of its location. Its existence was revealed to Leader-1 by Eno in a vision, and he took the Command Center and the Guardians to its location in the "heart of Gobotron" (in fact the half-forgotten planet Earth, around which Gobotron had been built). Go-Bots #3 Leader-1 agreed to a temporary truce with rival Turbo to find it, allowing Scooter to lead them to the location of the Lazer Lance. Despite being attacked by Magmar's followers (from whom they were saved by Boulder's Go-Lems) and Professor Braxis' army of Vamps before they found the artefact and Courageous. Leader-1 then prepared to face down Zod, only for Cy-Kill to race in and snatch the Lazer Lance from his grasp and snap it over his knee. However, the Go-Lems then arrived and dropped both Cy-Kill and Zod into a chasm in the ground; Leader-1 resolved to destroy the beast anyway, joined by Turbo, Scooter, Spay-C and Screw Head. In the resulting battle, Leader-1, Turbo and Scooter were able to reassemble the Lazer Lance long enough to drive it into the weak spot on Zod's belly, destroying him at last. Go-Bots #4
