While the Autobots figure out how to find the Forge of Solus Prime, Megatron begins to enact his next big scheme involving the Artifacts.

Synopsis

[edit]

"The Saga's Latest" (Part 1)

[edit]

Optimus Prime checks in with Melody Keen on the hunt for the Forge of Solus Prime. She reports no progress, but presses on, with Optimus noting that it is now imperative that they find it before any of the Megatrons (theirs, the Predacon, or the alternate-universe one) or Bomb-Burst do. To increase their chances of finding it, Melody suggests they start also looking for Solus Prime herself, as she would know when and where the weapon regenerates. Hopefully assuming that Megatronus Prime is still focused on reclaiming the Requiem Blaster, they decide to begin working to contact Vector Prime.

"The Saga's Latest" (Part 2)

[edit]

Megatron (the main one) discusses preparing to defend the Requiem Blaster from Bomb-Burst, its owner, and his fellow Megatrons with Soundwave. Of course, he has a plan, and orders his right-hand bot to summon the Combaticons in and contact Quake, the latter of whom he wants to abduct Luca for him. The Combaticons arrive, and their leader informs them that he wants them to test-fire their newly-acquired Artifact. Onslaught is hesitant at first, having heard that it's dangerous for the person wielding the weapon, but Megatron cares naught for his concerns. Their target, per his orders, is whoever or whatever they run into that tries to fight them.

Gameplay

[edit]

This event was an individual totaliser, meaning players earned points and unlocked prizes on their own as opposed to with their Alliance. The top prize was 500000 XP points.

Notes

[edit]
  • As with the past few months of events, the name of the dialogue differs from that of the event, instead being called "The Saga's Latest".
  • The Autobots have set out to find Solus Prime, setting up her in-game debut as the next Prime in the penultimate event of the year.

Continuity notes

[edit]
  • Ultra Magnus makes reference to the construction of a Primal Basilica, which was built at the Autobot base using the Forge of Solus at the end of the "Prime Relics" campaign.
    • To retcon the alternate, faction-based endings for the campaign, Melody notes that building the Basilica caused the Forge to be "lost" (in a similar manner to how the Requiem Blaster was "destroyed").
  • After a brief alliance with the Terrorcons, Bomb-Burst went MIA again in "Age of the Primes".
  • Megatronus has been on the hunt for the Requiem Blaster since it fell into Decepticon hands in "Dark Descent".
  • Despite their alliance in prior stories, it seems that Megatron and his bestial counterpart are now at odds with each other, as Soundwave mentions "the other two Megatrons" during their conversation (as opposed to just the Armada one).
  • Soundwave is suspicious of Quake, their sleeper agent in the Terrorcons, as he was clearly working willingly with Armada Megatron when they all went after the Requiem Blaster.
  • Melody's Decepticon counterpart, Luca, recently made his return to the story in "Prime Relics", working for the Terrorcons.
  • Vortex notes that the Combaticons are down a member, as Swindle has been rogue and AWOL since "The Reckoning".

Transformers references

[edit]
  • Given the game's penchant for helping Hasbro market their new toys, the choice to bring the Combaticons back into the story could very well be due to the then-recent reveal of the prototypes for Age of the Primes Onslaught and, more importantly, Bruticus.
  • In regards to Quake's loyalties, Megatron tells Soundwave to tell him to "Make it very clear that if he defies me further, I will strike down upon him with great vengeance and furious anger, to quote the Covenant of Primus". This is, of course, a reference to the verse quoted by Megatron's Predacon counterpart in from the final episode of Beast Wars. However, see directly below.

Real-world references

Errors

[edit]
  • The word "the" is capitalized when Megatron orders Soundwave to bring the Combaticons in.
