- Transformers Magic Washcloths was a promotional tie-in with the 2007 franchise.
Made in China at the behest of Basic Fun, Inc., Southampton, PA, Transformers Magic Washcloths were distributed through 2006 and 2007 to coincide with the release and promotion of the 2007 movie.
They were 100% cotton washcloths printed with simplified graphics of movie characters, shrinkwrapped and packaged in a blister bubble on a 3.5" x 5" card, at a pricepoint of about four United States Dollars.
(Yes, someone paid four bucks for this thing. Fandom can be a harsh mistress.)
Behind the Magic
[edit]- Carefully unwrap washcloth
- Carefully drop washcloth in water
- The washcloth will unfold on its own, as bidden by the dark powers of Satan.*
- The washcloth will absorb the water, which will be handy while you are being burned at the stake for tampering with the dark arts of linen expansion.
- *Alternate Step 3: Wait twenty minutes while nothin' freakin' happens, then unfold your lousy $4 washcloth by hand. Crying is optional.
