Marie Vergracht (b. 1947), known in France as Marie-Martine, is a French actress specializing in dubbing. She started her career in 1952, aged 5, in a film with Fernandel. She had to dub her own lines in studio for technical reasons, and that's how she started dubbing.

She is the regular voice of actresses including Christine Estabrook, Meagen Fay, Fionnula Flanagan, Lee Garlington, Jenny O'Hara and Rhea Perlman. She voices many characters in various TV series and participated in series such as Dallas, Desperate Housewives and NCIS: Los Angeles.

In animation, she also voiced many characters, notably several puppies in 101 Dalmatians, Seita and Setsuko's aunt in the Grave of the Fireflies, Cid in Star Wars: The Bad Batch and Nostalgia in Inside Out 2.

Regarding video games, she dubbed Jocasta Nu in several Star Wars games and is the narrator in most of the God of War games.

Notes

[edit]
  • Her casting as the French voice of Starscream and Shrapnel in The Movie remains one of the biggest mysteries for French fans. The most plausible theory is that Starscream's high-pitched voice was mistakenly identified as a woman's voice.
