Beast Wars

[edit]
  • Matrix Cannon (Roleplay, 1999)
Released as part of the Beast Wars Neo toyline, the Matrix Cannon is an electronic roleplay toy gun. Pulling the trigger causes the gun to make a shooting noise and launch a small, red "energy bullet" projectile within the sealed dome running down the barrel towards the large orange and purple Matrix Core at the end. If an energy bullet makes it into the Matrix Core hole, the red energy counter light on top will flash briefly and a higher pitched shooting noise is made. Once a total of four energy bullets make it into the Matrix Core hole the two red lights on the side flash and a longer noise is made showing you achieved maximum power! Since the Matrix Core rotates as the gun is aimed up and down, using the sight on the back of the dome can help with lining up shots. If the user runs out of energy bullets to fire in the launch chamber, the shooting noise will not be made. Pulling the refill lever on the left side of the gun will cause them to refill and shoot again. Images on the back of the Matrix Cannon packaging shows the dome was originally intended to more clear then the darker version the release has.

Notes

[edit]
  • The version of the Matrix Cannon used when the Maximals have target practice is smaller than its appearance in other episodes.
  • Despite the name, this weapon doesn't actually have anything to do with any Matrix.
