Medics are drones from the War for Cybertron portion of the Aligned continuity family.

Medics are a type of flying drone utilized by both the Autobots and Decepticons. Their primary function is to generate a repair field that heals allied units within their range, however they also have defensive capabilities in the form of plasma weapons, (though they only use these weapons if all other enemies in the vicinity have been defeated, and if new enemies spawn in, they immediately stop using them and go back to healing their allies, until those allies are defeated too). They can be taken down with a good solid blow, but explode when destroyed. It's generally a good idea to take them out before attacking the enemy they're supporting.
