When Medix brings a bat with him to Cybertron, chaos ensues. As Hot Shot gets blamed for it all, Medix has to accept that a high-tech environment probably isn't the best place for a wild creature!
Synopsis
[edit]Hot Shot finds Medix in the medbay apparently talking to himself. Observing that Medix has been acting oddly lately, Hot Shot tells him it's time for the mission briefing. Heatwave briefs everyone on the trip going to take to Cybertron to visit Ratchet's science lab. Medix is unenthusiastic, and furtively by the medbay on his way to the space bridge. The other recruits arrive through the space bridge, only to be surprised when Medix arrives shortly afterwards accompanied by a bat. Medix reveals he found Mister Flappy injured and has been secretly nursing him back to health. He hastily hides the bat as Heatwave emerges from the space bridge.
The recruits reach Ratchet's lab, where Hot Shot immediately spots an ancient Cube, which Medix says is the original first Cube. Unfortunately Mister Flappy gets loose and triggers the cube, making it zoom around the lab. Hot Shot manages to catch it just as Heatwave arrives with Ratchet, and has to cover for the bat by accepting responsibility. Heatwave and Ratchet head out to prepare a presentation, leaving the recruits under instructions not to touch anything else. Unfortunately Medix's bat is again loose, and has gotten lodged in an exploration helmet. They realize the helmet is confusing the bat's echo location, but Medix manages to get it to roll over, dislodging the helmet. Heatwave arrives back in time to see Hot Shot catching the helmet. Wedge starts to explain that Hot Shot's not actually to blame, however it's time for the presentation.
Ratchet shows off the sensory-dampening chamber he's got to test the echo-location goggles he's developed. The pinging noise from the googles agitates Mister Flappy, who gets loose and flies into the chamber. Hot Shot immediately runs in after him, without the googles he'll need to see anything. Medix puts the googles on himself and heads inside, using echolocation to find Hot Shot stuck in a trap and rescue him.
Back on Earth, Medix apologizes to Hot Shot and Heatwave. Heatwave suggests it's time to set Mister Flappy free, and Medix resolves to do so, along with the rest of Mister Flappy's family who have also been living in the medlab.
