Melee specialists are a body-type in the War for Cybertron portion of the Aligned continuity family.
Speak harshly and carry a giant wafer.

When your entire battle strategy is to run directly at the guy with the big gun and try to hit him, you might consider becoming a melee specialist. At some point in the Great War, someone seems to have gotten the idea that recruits could be fast-tracked simply by giving them a really big stick and sending them out to fight the enemy. The result may not be fearsome on its own, but a group of them can bum rush an enemy and pose a significant threat.
