Melvin Frohike

Melvin Frohike is a human from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Melvin Frohike is a conspiracy theorist who along with his friends John Byers and Richard "Ringo" Langly is a member of The Lone Gunmen. Together they assist the FBI in solving their more unusual cases, sometimes even involving extra-terrestrials.

Hearts of Steel

While investigating an email that purported to be from the future warning of an imminent outbreak of a deadly virus, the Lone Gunmen found that the virus was the work of a company called Skylogic Systems. Langly made contact with a source on the internet who claimed to have important information about the company, but upon meeting in a car park, the humans were astonished when this source turned out to be the Autobots Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. Pooling their resources, the two groups were able to identify their chief suspect at Skylogic Systems as David Simmons and so Frohike called Agent Mulder, who was able to trace Simmons to the "Sweet Lovin' Highway Motel". After apprehending and interrogating him, they discovered the location of Skylogic's laboratory.

The Lone Gunmen infiltrated the facility after Bumblebee scanned a military altmode and employed his holomatter technology to disguise Frohike to get past the gate. They quickly discovered the Autobots' captive comrade Ratchet and sprung him from Skylogic's E.M.P. containment field but not without setting off an alarm that summoned squads of Skylogic security armed with advanced weaponry capable of incapacitating Bumblebee. Once Byers had uncovered the address of Skylogic's virus manufacturing facility, the Autobots forced their way out of the building, catching Frohike and the others in mid-air, and met back up with Optimus Prime.

Afterwards the Lone Gunmen and their Transformer allies went their separate ways, though the Autobots left them with a sample of the virus to take to the C.D.C. in the hopes of developing a cure before heading north. The X-Files: Conspiracy
