Miami Metal Clamp appeared exclusively in the UK portion of the Marvel Comics continuity.

Slapdash was watching Miami Metal Clamp... or something like that... one Christmas when Getaway started bothering him about helping Optimus Prime with his personal problems. While Slapdash was much more interested in watching TV, the show was suddenly interrupted by a news bulletin, much to his disappointment.

When Slapdash kicked Sandstorm a while later, he claimed to have learned that move from the show. Cold Comfort and Joy!

Notes

• The gag is that Slapdash is misunderstanding the name of Miami Vice, a cop show very popular at the time. The scruffy-faced man seen onscreen is undoubtedly meant to be Vice star Don Johnson (who incidentally had just voiced Lt. Falcon in the animated G.I. Joe movie a year before this story was published).
