Missile Launcher

The Missile Launcher is an Autobot Micromaster Combiner Transport from the toyline portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Maybe putting the control panels right behind the giant missiles' exhaust vents wasn't the best idea.

The Missile Launcher is a transformable battle rig driven and commanded by Micromaster Combiners Retro and Surge. Able to conquer the roughest and steepest terrain, it can convert to a battle platform to deploy its twin long-range missiles or split into two artillery emplacements to bombard Decepticon troops with paired gun batteries.

The Transformers

[edit]
  • Missile Launcher (Micromaster Combiner Transport, 1990)
  • Accessories: 2 missiles, left & right guns, left & right shields/ramps
Released in the seventh and final year of the original The Transformers toyline in the US (sixth and not-final in Europe), the Missile Launcher is a massive trailer with a gigantic (non-firing) missile launcher (duh) on top, with connection points on both ends that can be used to attach Micromaster Combiners in their half-a-vehicle modes to drive it around. The transport converts to a battle station with a ramp/parking spot for vehicle-mode Micromasters; it also splits into two wheeled artillery mounts, each with a compartment for a Micromaster to sit in.
The Launcher came with the Autobot Micromaster Combiners sold with Retro and Surge.

Notes

[edit]
  • The Missile Launcher's Tech Spec is one of the most confused and confusing in all of Generation 1. If the bio is taken at face value, the Missile Launcher has a "Combiner Mode"... wherein it transforms into two Micromaster robots. These "cybernetically superior micro robots" are then commanded by two other robots, namely Retro and Surge. Yeah.
