Rollie Friendly had fallen on hard times while shooting for Creepozoids of the Crab Nebula—his last few films had been unpopular, his Creepozoid kept breaking down, and his actors were inexperienced and arrogant. In a meeting with Mitch, Mitch showed Rollie a television story of Sky Lynx returning the Spacehikers to Earth, suggesting that Rollie get a robot for his film. However, the new report also showed how unpopular robots were at the time. Mitch then disregarded his robot suggestion, considering it bad for business, and, spurred by a sighting reported by The Inquisitor, convinced Rollie to go wandering around North Carolina in search of Bigfoot to use instead. The crew actually managed to track down the beast, though they learned its name was actually "Skullgrin" and that it could talk! Mitch spread some money around to secure Skullgrin as an actor in Rollie's next film. Skullgrin turned out to be a big hit with the public, leading Mitch to enjoy promoting him as "Skullgin Mania" swept the nation.

Unfortunately, Skullgrin wasn't too great with public appearances. After his first press conference ended in violence, Mitch convinced Rollie to keep out of the public eye, at least until they finished shooting "Monster from Mars." As they were shooting their final scene however, the super-powered cyborg Circuit Breaker attacked, and Mitch could do little more than watch, mouth agape, as she and Skullgrin tussled.
