Monacus
Monacus is a bleak, barren asteroid known as a haven for gamblers and characters of all types.

[edit]A seedy asteroid where all manner of alien lowlives and bounty hunters congregated, Monacus was a gambling town run by Lord Gyconi. By 1985 however, recent conquests of the Decepticon Empire forced the criminals to surrender a portion of their profits to Megatron.
After an adventure on Brobdingnag, a group of Autobots were abducted by Bosch as they made their way back to Earth. Though the alien intended to sell the quintet as slaves, Smokescreen's stasis pod malfunctioned and he was able to free himself. After demonstrating his ability to override non-sentient machinery, namely slot machines, Smokescreen bargained with Bosch that he would win the alien all the energon chips he needed in exchange for his friends' freedom. Touching down in Monacus' capital, Sheol, the duo put up the immobilized Autobots as collateral, with Smokescreen winning a large amount of energon before his cord was severed on the final match, costing them everything.
Concurrently, Dirge, Ramjet, and Astrotrain arrived, seeking to confront Gyconi about him withholding the Decepticons' share of the profits. After correcting this oversight, Gyconi offered the trio a seat for the next gladiatorial match where he fuelled up the captive Autobots on sub-par energon before pitting them up against alien beasts. After Optimus Prime had been defeated, Smokescreen and Bosch, now joined by Devcon, freed the Autobots. The Decepticons soon left Monacus, taking Gyconi with them, Devcon following, taking on Slizardo as a partner.
With everything settled, Bosch offered the Autobots a lift back to Earth... just after a quick stop at "casino row." The Gambler

[edit]In Aurex 006.0 Kappa, Monacus was host to a high-stakes game of Triad, with the Transwarp Blaster as the prize. Entrants included Initial T, Imperator Imperious Delirious, Senator Feh'd of the Dominion of Mirtonia, the Blood Tyrant Gastrathrameferous III of Shi-La, Mobedyar Daggerthrust the Lesser of Vestum Minor, Spacewarp, and Sideways.
