Morgan Lofting (February 2, 1940<ref>https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/morgan-lofting-dead-baroness-gi-joe-1236074053/</ref> – November 27, 2024) was an American voice actress and writer. She was best known for playing the Baroness across both the Sunbow- and DiC-produced seasons of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero. Lofting also played such characters as Princess Invidia on Star Blazers, Aunt May and Black Cat on the 1981 Spider-Man cartoon, Punch's Mother on Cowboy Bebop and Fistina and Yetta on Ben 10: Omniverse.

[edit]- Back in the 1990s, early attempts by fans to identify the cast of the cartoon led to Lofting being incorrectly identified as the voice of Firestar. The identity of Firestar's actress has never come to light, meaning that numerous online databases, taking that old fandom guesswork as true, continue to list Lofting for the role. Obviously not remembering whether or not she played a one-episode bit part with barely more than half-a-dozen lines thirty-something years ago, Lofting also attended several conventions under the assumption that she played Firestar (which isn't the only time such a thing has happened).
