Mrs. Duranti

Mrs. Duranti is a human from the Marvel portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Hah-cha-cha-cha!

Mrs. Duranti is presumably a widow. She owns a farm in Washington, either near or in Seattle, where she lives with her son Anthony. Though she is a devoted activist to the point she occasionally neglects her son, in the end, Anthony is the most important element in her life and she would do anything to protect him.

Mrs. Duranti participated daily in an anti-nuke protest at Fort Lewis, to which she brought along her rather uninterested son. On the day of the launch of Power Station Alpha, she was once more too caught up in her activities to pay attention to her son as well. Bombshell cerebro-shelled the boy to bring him in Power Station Alpha's path, so that his endangerment would serve as a distraction to the Autobot Bumblebee. The plan worked: Bumblebee rushed up to the boy and got him out of harm's way. Mrs. Duranti then approached and took her son from him, almost instantly making a run for it, away from the robot which she apparently blamed for the "state of shock" Anthony was in. Mrs. Duranti took her son home in hopes that whatever was ailing him would wane off if he just got rest. Obviously, it didn't, so she took him to a doctor. After a few tests and an x-ray scan, she was informed that something had been implanted in Anthony's brain and that it would require surgery to remove it. Mrs. Duranti was justifiably mortified, in particular because the doctor could make no promises on the results of the operation. Power Struggle At the hospital, Anthony was placed in Doctor McGrath's care, who too couldn’t make any promises to Mrs. Duranti but at least could ensure her that her son was not in pain.

Several hours later, the operation was at an end and Mrs. Duranti was told Anthony would completely recover. Taking seat at her son's bed, any lingering worries she had were removed when Anthony, in a moment of consciousness, weakly called out for her. Ashes, Ashes... Some time thereafter, when Anthony was released from the hospital, Mrs. Duranti was preparing a meal when her son ran into the kitchen and told her he had seen a flash in the sky. She got ticked at this and reminded her son that his exaggerated and made-up stories were not appreciated. Then she hugged him, secretly thrilled that he was back to his old self, overactive imagination and all. ...All Fall Down!
