Mrs. Witwicky
- Mrs. Witwicky is a human from the 2005 IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Mrs. Witwicky's work results in her mingling with the elite crowd, the sort who buy hybrids. She's also the wife of Daniel "Sparkplug" Witwicky and mother of Steven "Spike" Witwicky and a daughter.

Mrs. Witwicky would take care of Spike when her husband's colonel position kept him from spending much time at home. Scrapper She was holding a garden party for rich elites when she had to pull her husband away from chatting with the guests because he was starting to fantasize about killing them with toothpicks. While she was asking him to behave himself, a United States Army helicopter arrived to pick up Sparkplug and whisk him away to deal with an invasion of giant robots. Eight years later, Spike had worked with the Autobots, went on the run for being a traitor, was pardoned and reinstated by the President of the United States, and was now the President's liaison to the Earth Defense Command. He was able to meet with his mother at last and comforted her in the wake of Sparkplug's death. Spike said goodbye to her as he headed off on his next assignment. Edge of the Earth

[edit]Spike's mother passed away when he was still very young. When Optimus Prime asked Spike how he got his name, he explained that his mother used to call him "Spikey" due to his hair sticking up. Transformers #2

[edit]- You are reading this page correctly. At no point in the original G1 cartoon or original G1 comic was the mother of Spike (and Buster) and wife of Sparkplug ever seen or mentioned (though the Sunbow cartoon production bible did state that Sparkplug is a widower<ref>Sparkplug's bio in the G1 cartoon bible.</ref>). Her debut in IDW's comics in 2008 is a first for the Transformers brand.
- In addition to that, The Transformers vol. 1 #17 and The Transformers vol. 2 #51 off-handedly mention her having a daughter who goes unseen.
