Nanochromatic camouflage
For robots in disguise, a bright Cybertronian colour palette isn't always an asset. When Transformers need to go even deeper undercover, they can count on their nanochromatic camouflage to readily alter their colours and project whatever they need onto their physical appearance.

[edit]After being summoned to Earth by Ectotron, Optimus Prime became acquainted with the hoodlums of New York City, who covered his alternate mode in graffiti as he waited outside the Ghostbusters firehouse. Ghosts of Cybertron Part 3 Inspired by Janine Melnitz's phrase of "when in Rome", Optimus covered up the vandalism with a Ghostbusters inspired colour scheme, one that Peter Venkman heartily approved of, especially since it had a positive affect on the Prime's sense of humour. When it came time for the Autobots to leave Earth, Ectotron decided against returning to the Ark in favour of becoming the first interstellar Ghostbuster, using his nanochromatic camouflage to generate a nametag for himself. Ghosts of Cybertron Part 5
