"Bones... you ever hear of a doomsday machine?"

Nemesis (ネメシス Nemeshisu) is an artificial planet owned by the Predacon Emperor of Destruction, Galvatron. The "eye" situated in the front of the weapon has the ability to drain every ounce of energy, even the deadly Angolmois Energy, from within whatever luckless planet the monster happens across.

No, not him. Or that.

Nemesis was constructed by Galvatron II for the purpose of draining planet Beast of its Beast Power. In 2038, the "artificial fortress" began to absorb the planet's energy, transmitting it to Galvatron's Creation Matrix, but was stopped by Optimus Primal, Leo Prime, and Big Convoy, who pierced the fortress using the Axalon and destroyed its core with a Triple Beast Convoy Matrix Attack. Nemesis crashed onto the planet as a result. The Road to Legends' Revival Chapter 3

Built by Galvatron, Nemesis was a planet-sized collector of Angolmois Energy. To function properly, it required Predacon bases to be constructed on the target planet. The Artificial Planet Nemesis

After traveling through space, the Maximals and the Predacons made planetfall on the strange world of Gaia, a world brimming over with a chaotic and powerful energy source known as Angolmois Energy. Galvatron, leader of the Predacons, sought to steal the Angolmois Energy and use its power to fortify a Predacon powerbase on Gaia. However, Lio Convoy stood in his way time and again. The New Forces Arrive! In reality, their minor skirmishes over single pools of Angolmois Energy were nothing more than a stall tactic so that Galvatron could construct the necessary bases and allow Nemesis to suck the planet dry. The Artificial Planet Nemesis

Sauron called, he wants his gimmick back.

As it entered the Solar System, Nemesis consumed one of Neptune's moons. Megastorm Reborn As Nemesis swung by Uranus, it almost pulled in Ikard's dropship as it departed Gaia, requiring an emergency warp-out. The New Weapon, Tako Tank To increase its power, Nemesis feasted on Saturn's rings using the energy it absorbed to fire a massive blast of Angolmois Energy at the planet Gaia. It flew on, leaving a ringless Saturn in its wake. Gigastorm's Treachery Upon passing Jupiter, Nemesis siphoned off the gas giant's atmosphere. The Great Angolmois Freezing Tactic As it reached the inner Solar System, the Maximals made an attempt to destroy Nemesis at a distance with long range weaponry but failed. Knock Out Nemesis The closer Nemesis got to Gaia, the more the Angolmois Energy on the organic world would cause chaos. The Great Angolmois Freezing Tactic The Crisis of Planet Gaia

Nemesis soon passed by Mars, its gravitational fields inadvertently activating a Gaian security system. Emissary of the Fourth Planet

As Nemesis advanced ever closer, the Predacons launched into space to dock with it, Fly Out! Planet Gaia forcing the Maximals to follow. Revenge of the Space Pirates

Once Nemesis reached Gaia, it used its ability to "suck" energy to drain Gaia of all its Angolmois Energy. The Predacons then boarded the planet and prepared to depart from Gaia while the Maximals attempted to sabotage the ship via its thermal exhaust ports. In the bowels of the planet, Lio Convoy and Galvatron faced off one final time before the latter had Nemesis commence operations. Breaking into Nemesis During their skirmish with the empowered Galvatron, Lio Convoy and Lio Junior, combined as the Green Warrior. Legend! The Green Warrior Scuba meanwhile had managed to trigger the self-destruct protocols aboard Nemesis which gave them all only minutes to evacuate. The Green Warrior was able to use the power of his Energon Matrices to seal all of Galvatron's Angolmois Energy into capsules and sent them flying off into outer space, depowering both Galvatron and Nemesis. Not to be denied, Galvatron activated his Galva-Matrix and deliberately agitated the supply of Angolmois Energy, building up an even more powerful explosion. With no recourse open, the Green Warrior was forced to slay Galvatron but doing so only accelerated the destruct sequence. Lio Convoy managed to move Nemesis away from Gaia however before he used his Energon Matrix to shield himself and his comrades from the imminent explosion. When Nemesis finally exploded, its destruction sent the Predacons adrift helplessly through space, while trapping all the Maximals within a wormhole. Farewell! Lio Convoy

"These aren't your Knights of Cybertron era light kites. You're gonna be pretty much bending reality if you turn on the gravity engine."

Following the unification of the Thirteen on Cybertron, the taciturn Titan Nemesis fell under the sway of the charismatic "Onyx Prime", The First Who Was Named though nominally sharing a bond with Alpha Trion. The Lost Colonies of Cybertron When Onyx convinced Prima to expand Cybertronian civilization to the stars, Prima had Nemesis's starship mode serve as their flagship, shuttling the Primes and a detachment of Omega Sentinels to Antilla. When Onyx left Cybertron following the First Cybertronian Civil War, Nemesis flew the Prime and his Maximals back to Antilla where they made camp. The First Who Was Named Unstopped and Unstoppable Our Finest Ceremony

Unknown years later, Antilla was visited by Camiens, who initially believed Nemesis to be a mountain. When they approached, the "eye" of the Titan's alternate mode opened, its light revealing Onyx Prime. In early 2018, following the Iron Ring's invasion, Nemesis returned Onyx and Liege Maximo to Cybertron, their arrival blocking out the sun. Surfeit of Primes

After sowing chaos on Cybertron, Onyx Prime began making his way back to Nemesis, only for the recently arrived Metrotitan to open fire. With Metrotitan unwilling to stand down, Onyx ordered Nemesis to fire on his brother, blasting a hole clear through his torso and crippling him. As Onyx's skiff docked with the Titan, Optimus Prime attempted to attack Onyx, who parried and revealed himself to be none other than Shockwave. The Ground

"It's a Roaming Eye. A Homeworld tracking vessel!"

As Shockwave explained his temporal journey and plan to a bound Optimus, he had Nemesis set course for the ruins of Crystal City. Upon arrival, Shockwave threw Optimus directly into the black hole, so that the Prime might embark on his own journey of enlightenment. The First Who Was Named Seeing Optimus fall, flyers began searching for him. On the ground, Starscream observed Windblade dodge a defensive barrage from Nemesis when she flew too close. Elita One suggested turning Carcer on Nemesis, only for Marissa Faireborn to overrule her, noting the poor luck that Metrotitan had had against the evil Titan. Endless Forever

Following Shockwave's defeat and Liege Maximo's demise, Nemesis left the planet with the Maximals and joined forces with Unicron. Unforgivable Despite their master's teleportation powers, the Maximals still used Nemesis for transit, allowing Prowl to track, and eventually predict, their movements. Unstopped and Unstoppable

During the Chaos Bringer's assault on Caminus, Nemesis touched down on the monster's surface. Anticipating this, Bumblebee rammed a small one-man ship into the center of the Titan's starship mode, smashing a path through the pupil and into Unicron. Last Stand

Unicron subsequently integrated Nemesis's corpse into itself, being able to access the transformation cog and gain a robot mode, of which the corpse formed the right eye. When Carcer attempted to ram Unicron, the Chaos Bringer used Nemesis to fire a powerful beam of energy that crippled the mode-locked Titan. Our Finest Road's End

When the Talisman's removal from Cybertron allowed Unicron to survive the planet's destruction, Road's End Shockwave established a remote connection to the Titan and used its scanners to quickly locate the artifact. Assembly

As Unicron came under direct attack from Optimus Prime's army, it again used Nemesis to fire a defensive laser, the beam claiming Trypticon's life. What remained of Nemesis was then destroyed when Unicron collapsed in on itself. Ceremony

Notes

[edit]
  • This artificial planet holds the honor of being the very first thing in the history of the Transformers brand to bear the name "Nemesis", beating out the Decepticon Space Cruiser of Generation 1 by almost eight months since the latter vessel would not receive the name for itself until the Beast Wars cartoon's series finale, "Nemesis Part 1" and "Part 2". That the two ended up sharing the same name relatively contemporaneous to one another, and essentially served the same role of being the final instrument of each show's respective lead villain's endgame, was truly an enormous coincidence of the time, as the members of Mainframe Entertainment paid very little heed to what Japan was doing with its own Beast Wars shows across the Pacific.
  • In both "Fly Out! Planet Gaia" of the cartoon and "All Hands, Make a Special Attack on the Evil Planet!" of the comic, Galvatron is said to be the one behind the creation of Nemesis. Conversely, while not stated outright, Nemesis is depicted in the Legends comic to have been commissioned by Galvatron, a native of the Marvel-Generation 2-Alignment world, which implies that Nemesis is a Warworld. It is technically not incompatible with the cartoon because all Moon says is that Galvatron created Nemesis so he doesn't have to have been talking about the current Galvatron and if he was he could be mistaken, but either scenario is retcon territory.
