The New Grand Canyon formed on farmer Tom's land as a result of the Decepticon Breastforce diverting an underground river for hydroelectric power. Tom was surprised by the sudden collapse, but was soon at Victory Bar to offer the bar's patrons a view of the crater for some money. Machtackle took him up on the offer, investigating possible Decepticon activity.

Soon, Tom brought many bar patrons to the crater, just in time to see it violently fill up with water—the Decepticons' hydroelectric plant had been destroyed. Tom bemoaned the loss of the "New Grand Canyon", but asked the Autobots to put off filling the lake so that he could try his hand at fish farming. Mach and Tackle
