Noji

From MediaWiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search
Noji is a Decepticon Mini-Con from the Prime portion of the Aligned continuity family.

Noji (ノジ) is the Arms Micron partner of... uh... some Vehicon.

There are occasionally lots of him, so it may be that all Vehicons have a Noji.

Prime cartoon

[edit]
Noji only appears as an actual character in the Arms Micron Theater segments of the Japanese broadcast of Prime. Technically, he appears in the main cartoon any time... uh... a Vehicon uses his cannon, but we're not going to bother with that and just focus on his individual exploits.
Voice actor: Yūki Tai (Japanese){{#if: |, {{{2}}}}}

Guru, Noji, Zamu, and Gura had the Micron studio, with Guru taking command over the couch. He got snippy with the other three for repeatedly pointing out that he was only sub-leader, but then a mysterious voice boomed through the room, scaring them all... Phantom Transformation! Mind-Diving As Guru began whining about the interruption, Gora revealed himself in person and had Noji combine with Zamu and Gura to form the Energon Sniper weapon, which he used to teach Guru a lesson in keeping his mouth shut. Counterattack Transformation! The Resurrection of Megatron! Noji was later roped into Gora's sad attempts at impressing Arc with his combining skills, which only resulted in the Decepticon Arms Microns forming a big pile on the floor. Strategy Transformation! Unravel the Sinister Thread!

Hades incorporated six Nojis in one of his "ultimate" combinations, but once Ida pointed out that the resulting combination wasn't any more powerful than Hades usually was, they realized they weren't making any difference and left. Clashing Transformation! The Dark Commander Appears A powered-up blue Noji appeared as part of the Gravity Planet Bowgun when Gora summoned it to do battle with O.P.'s Advanced Star Saber. Sonic Transformation! Ratchet's Recipe Noji came last place in an Arms Micron popularity contest based on viewer votes. Poor guy. Sky Dance Transformation! The Suicidal Skydive He later helped trick Guru into thinking Gora had handed over leadership of the Decepticon Microns to Zori. Blackest Transformation! The Shadow of Treachery When Arms Micron Theater ended, Noji and the rest of the Arms Microns all got together to say goodbye to their audience. Ultimate Transformation! Fight! Transformers

Toys

Prime

[edit]
  • Vehicon (Deluxe, 2012)
  • Set ID number: AM-14
  • Micron ID number: M-14
  • Release date: June 30, 2012
  • Energon Crystal: SP Power
Part of the fourth wave of TakaraTomy Prime toys, Noji transforms from a robotic boar into the Vehicon's shielded "beam gun" arm-cannon. He is covered in 5mm posts and holes as part of the Arms Micron gimmick, allowing him to combine with other Microns to form bigger and more ridiculous "Combo Weapons" and "Super Combo Weapons".
While he shares his weapon mode with Igu, contrary to what some might assume, they are not retools/pretools of each other, but two completely different sculpts.
He was only available packed in with the Deluxe Vehicon toy, coming out of the package as a bunch of unpainted parts on runners, like a model kit. His extra deco is provided by customer-applied foil stickers on a sheet he shares with Ratchet.

Roast pig!
  • Hellflame Noji (Arms Micron, 2012)
  • Release date: July 28, 2012
  • Energon Crystal: SP Gōsei
A clear-red version of Noji was given away as a campaign bonus with the purchase of 3000 yen's worth of Transformers toys at Yamada Denki, Yodobashi Camera, and stores in the EDION group on July 28 of 2012. This version is almost completely devoid of stickers, having only the small faction symbol sticker that goes under his Energon Crystal.

I'll have a be-uh, be-uh blue... Ch-uh Ch-Christmas... we-uh we-uh we-uh without y-you...
  • Arms Micron Ultimate 5 Piece Set D - Gravity Planet Bowgun (Multi-pack, 2012)
  • Set ID number: AMW-14
  • Release date: December 28, 2012
  • Energon Crystal: SP Power
A blue version of Noji, dubbed Noji B, was part of a five-piece gift set of Decepticon-allied Arms Microns, which also included Gora II E, Guru B, Ida B, and Zori CS. All five can combine to form the Gravity Planet Bowgun.

Notes

[edit]
  • Noji's name is a shortening of inoshishi (イノシシ), the Japanese word for wild boar, with the second consonant changed to a voiced form.
  • Noji, like most Arms Microns, has the same voice actor as the Micron's larger partner; in this case, Yūki Tai.
  • We'd just like to point out how neat it is that the Jet Vehicon's Arms Micron partner and the car Vehicon's turn into the same style of blaster while being different animals altogether.
