Ocean Software was a computer game developer and publisher based in Manchester, England. They were founded in 1984 and made their name by publishing licensed games sourced from television, movies and arcade games.
One of these licensed games was The Transformers for the Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum.
Ocean Software was purchased for £100 million by Infogrames in 1996, and through a series of renamings, mergers, and acquisitions, eventually ended up in the hands of Bandai Namco Entertainment.
