- Ozu is a human from the cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Ozu (小津) is a [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}kendo|{{#if:||kendo}}]] student who lives in Japan. He's a bit of a young hothead, but he respects his sensei and takes his lessons to heart.

Ozu and the rest of his class were receiving kendo training when a battle between Defensor and Bruticus came awfully close to their dojo. Defensor went all out to prevent harm to come to the humans, but reinforcements arrived for his foe in the form of Cyclonus, Scourge and the Sweeps. Then Defensor got backup from Sky Lynx, Kup and Rodimus Prime, who chased off the Decepticons. The area safe again, Ozu followed his sensei outside to greet and thank their saviors.
Not long thereafter, the dojo was visited again by Hot Rod, whose responsibilities as Prime had become too much for him. With Hot Rod as spectator, Ozu battled with his sensei. Fearing he was going to lose, Ozu tried to be as forceful as possible, which only resulted in him losing his weapon. His sensei berated him for this, stating his thoughts during battle should not be focused on victory or defeat, only the battle itself. The sensei declared the lessons ended for the day and sent Ozu and his fellow students home.
A few hours later, Scourge led the Decepticons on an attack on Ozu's homecity. When Scourge threatened to kill an elderly woman, Ozu grabbed his katana and targeted Scourge's legs, causing the Decepticon to fall over. Ozu used the time he had won to try and find a place of hiding for him and the old lady, but Scourge managed to corner them beforehand. The two were saved by the arrival of Hot Rod, who through the same lesson the sensei had given Ozu had realized he couldn't just abandon his obligations. He defeated Scourge and took back the Matrix of Leadership, thereby becoming Rodimus Prime once more. Rodimus offered Ozu and the old lady a ride home, which they accepted. Before making good on his promise though, Rodimus made a detour to see how his troops were doing, who coincidentally had just won the battle.
