PEZ

"If I could have only one food to eat for the rest of my life? That's easy."

PEZ is an immensely popular brand of Austrian candy, known for its manual dispensers which frequently feature licensed designs based on all sorts of pop culture franchises.

A handful of PEZ dispensers based on Transformers characters have been made over the years, starting with a wave based on Generation 1 characters in 2015. These would be followed up with a wave based on Transformers: Robots in Disguise characters in 2016 (two of which would be re-released in 2017 as Connectibles with additional chest and arm attachments), and eventually, with another wave based on Generation 1 characters in 2024.

Others

[edit]

Beyond their candy dispensers, PEZ also produces Glucose candy — sold in Europe under the "PEZ Dextrose" branding — which usually feature packaging art themed around a given period's tie-in brands.

Transformers-themed packaging for the Dextrose candies was made for 2016's Robots in Disguise and 2024's Generation 1 offerings.

Trivia

[edit]
  • Israeli brand Klik also features a line of blatant rip-offs very distinctively PEZ-inspired candy dispensers. They would make tie-in merchandise for 2009's Revenge of the Fallen with dispensers based on Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.
