Paul Gordon

Power Rangers, Digimon, Transformers. 90's kids, this dude composed your childhood. (And a bit of your adolescence too.)

Paul Christian Gordon (October 19, 1963 - February 18, 2016) was an American musician, composer, producer, and, overall, a pretty awesome guy. Paul was born in Everette, Massachusetts, most likely with a guitar already in his hands. He got into the music-making biz in the '90s, and enjoyed a long and varied career.

He performed the theme song to the 2001 Transformers: Robots In Disguise cartoon.

Prior to his work on Transformers, Paul's jams could be heard in his work with such bands as [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}New Radicals|{{#if:||New Radicals}}]] and [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}The B-52's|{{#if:||The B-52's}}]].

In addition to his work with these bands, he also composed music for a number of television shows and networks; a regular at Saban Entertainment, some other shows he wrote tunes for include Action Man, Digimon, and Power Rangers Wild Force.

On the early morning of February 18, 2016, Paul passed away in Nashville, Tennessee, at age 52, from complications of heart disease. Paul left behind his wife, Jennifer Lysak Gordon, and two young sons. We send our love to them, and all his friends and family.

Rest in peace, Paul. Thanks for the awesome childhood.

Notes

[edit]
  • Paul was awarded the 2015 Joseph Jefferson Equity Award for Best New Work Musical For "Sense and Sensibility" at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater in Chicago, Illinois.
  • If we take our time, and we stick together, everything we do will go our way.
    • And if we try, now and forever, no matter what comes next, we'll be okay.
