Phil Phillipson is a background artist who worked on The Transformers. He started out at Hanna-Barbera in the 1970s, working on shows such as Super Friends, Jabberjaw and Smurfs. His work also includes backgrounds on shows such as He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, She-Ra: Princess of Power, Muppet Babies, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He has contributed to many of Disney's films, painting backgrounds for movies including The Lion King, Pocahontas and Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Among his current projects is the steampunk time travel comic book The Legion of Molly Doves, which he co-created with Amanda Raymond and Brian Phillipson.
