The Decepticons cornered the Autobots in Poverty Flat after Prime had ordered a retreat from the battle against the EDC-Decepticon alliance. The Decepticons however were unable to transform into robot mode- a fact Prowl exploited by merging with the Constructicons to form Devastator.
