Power bond

Power bonds are prisoner-restraint devices used by both Maximals and Predacons. They consist of hovering metallic devices that emit rings of crackling energy, immobilizing their targets.

When Ravage decided to ally with Megatron, he vocally commanded his ship's computer to release the power bonds, at which time the energy rings turned off and the metallic emitter seemed to disintegrate.
