Primax Blade

A weapon called "Primax" from the Tyran cluster.

The Primax Blade is Sentinel Prime's melee weapon of choice. It's versatile enough to have two configurations: while Sentinel can wield it one-handed in its long dual-bladed form, it also has a half-length mode which he can wave around just as easily. He stows it on his back when it's not in use.

Fiction

Dark of the Moon film

The first thing Sentinel did after being revived by the Matrix of Leadership was to pounce on Optimus Prime and wave the Primax Blade in the other Autobot's face until he could be talked down. The next time he got it out was after he revealed himself to be in alliance with Megatron and smashed his way through the vehicles in the NEST base so he could find the confiscated Pillars. Optimus later confronted Sentinel following the latter bringing the Decepticon army to Earth via a space bridge. Sentinel responded by sticking the Primax Blade to Optimus's throat as he issued a rejoinder.

During the final battle in Chicago, Sentinel used the Primax Blade in its dual-bladed configuration, starting out by blunting it terribly by sticking it into the side of a building so it would slow his descent as he jumped off. He fought at length with Optimus, even managing to use the blade to cleave off Optimus's right arm. As Sentinel prepared to finish off his foe with the Primax Blade, Megatron abruptly changed sides and started shooting him. In the ensuing tussle with Megatron, Sentinel dropped the blade. One film

The Primax Blade was one of many weapons in Sentinel's arsenal. When he lured the Thirteen into a ambush so they could be killed by Quintesson troops, Sentinel revealed his true colors by running Nexus Prime through with the sword, before moving on to Megatronus, decapitating the most powerful Prime in one stroke.

Fifty cycles later, Airachnid discovered Alpha Trion had survived Sentinel's betrayal and dragged him back to Iacon. Easily tiring of the ancient bot's pontificating, Sentinel brandished the blade at him and threatened to kill the old timer if he kept going. When Alpha Trion kept going, Sentinel made good on his promise and skewered him. One

Sentinel Prime's Cyberverse Commander toy has a Primax Blade which can stow under Sentinel's vehicle mode. Naturally he can also hold it in his hand.

• Sentinel Prime (MechTech Leader, 2011)

The Primax Blade with the Leader Class toy can fold in half and stow under the grey panels on the roof of his vehicle mode. It can also clip onto his shield which attaches to the roof of the fire engine. He can also use it as a sword. One blade can pop off to recreate the single-bladed configuration seen in the movie.

Studio Series Sentinel Prime comes with a screen-accurate version of his Primax Blade as an accessory. The blade is two separate blades joined together at the handle, potentially allowing Sentinel to dual wield.
