Prion is a Titan from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Pro tip: don't eat contaminated beef.

Prion was one of the Titans. Partnered with Micronus Prime, Prion made planetfall on a barren world, named in honor of himself, overseeing the development of a new Transformer civilization until the disastrous arrival of the Black Block Consortia.

Millions of years ago, according to historical legend, Prion and the other 12 Prime-aligned Titans departed Cybertron to found new outposts of Cybertronian civilization. First Contact Prion settled on a planet far away from Cybertron, and the new Transformers birthed from Prion's hot spot developed into a civilization of "Mini-Cons". The peaceful colony met its end when the robo-phobic Black Block Consortia sterilized the planet, killing Prion and leaving no survivors but Nickel, who was found by the Decepticon Justice Division days after the attack. Nickel was known to swear by "Prion's shadow". The Permanent Revolution

Following his revival, Sentinel Prime brought his captive audience of Optimus Prime, Soundwave, and Sovereign to the wreckage of Prion on the eponymous planet, where Sentinel used Prion's remains as a backdrop as he monologued about his plans for Optimus. White Heat
