Prysmosian

Prysmosians are the dominant species of the planet Prysmos. Formerly a technologically-advanced civilization, a solar realignment caused their society to lapse back into a primitive state, eschewing science to rely on the magic of their forebears.
Like some other aliens, they superficially resemble humans.
Fiction
[edit]2005 IDW continuity
[edit]The Prysmosians had gone through cyclical periods of scientific advancement and regression; ancient Prysmosians were adept wizards, who worshipped the deity Heskedor and relied on the power of her lifeblood to fuel their magic, what they called the "Arcana Vast." Good Men Society advanced, however, and magic was forgotten as the Prysmosians came to rely on technology while spurning magic-wielders as holdovers of a dead religion. Approximately three hundred years ago, the wizard Merklynn sought to undo the hold technology had on his people, and cast a spell that brought Prysmos' three suns into alignment, shutting down all technology on the planet and ushering in a new Age of Magic.
This period of time lasted until the suns moved back out of alignment, which tore the planet asunder. Approximately ten thousand Prysmosians escaped the cataclysm; Merklynn, hoping to atone for his mistake and still desiring power, travelled to Earth in the hopes of finding a new world to colonize, and eventually succeeded some seventy years later when he raised the city of New Prysmos beneath Cybertron, which soon came to house the remainder of the Prysmosian species. Schismatic
Though Merklynn's competing groups of technophobic "Visionaries" soon came into conflict with the dominant Transformer civilization on the planet, Cybertron No More the two species were able to reconcile, with the Talisman raising New Prysmos to the surface of Cybertron while terraforming a fraction of the planet's surface into a recreation of their old homeworld. The Curtain
The Prysmosians remained isolated in their colony until Unicron mounted an attack on Cybertron directly. As part of her plan to evacuate Cybertron Windblade appealed to to Leoric for aid who managed to use the Talisman's magic to teleport the population to Earth. Upon materializing in Victoria Falls however, Windblade commented that the Prysmosians themselves hadn't made the trip to Earth before more pressing issues soon garnered her attention. Road's End
Unknown to the Cybertronians, the Prysmosians had been sent back to the prehistoric past of their homeworld, shedding off their factional divides and starting anew on ancient Prysmos. A World and a Future
