Quickslinger (G1)

This article is about the Generation 1 Targetmaster. For the Generation 1 Aerialbot sometimes known as Quickslinger, see Slingshot (G1){{#switch:{{#sub:Slingshot (G1)|-1}}|!=|.=|?=|.}} For a list of other meanings, see Quickslinger (disambiguation).
Quickslinger is an Autobot Targetmaster from the Of Masters and Mayhem portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Quickslinger used to be a tenacious soldier, and a gutsy gal at that; she often took on assignments that seemed too big for a 'bot of such small stature. She has since abandoned the battlefield, seeking out a new mission in life after deciding that the war was a lost cause. These days she is an attendant to the Paradron Medic Lifeline.

Of Masters and Mayhem

[edit]

After a critically injured Punch had been left in Lifeline's care, Quickslinger aided her in repairing the Autobot. He was saved, at the expense of one of his robot modes, leaving him with only his "Counterpunch" and vehicle modes. Quickslinger looked over the patient as he recovered in stasis sleep. Insight

Combiner Wars Quickslinger is a redeco of Generations: Thrilling 30 Flanker sans larger Legends Class partner Swerve. She transforms into a drone jet resembling the [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}EADS Barracuda|{{#if:Barracuda|Barracuda|EADS Barracuda}}]] and [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Alenia Aermacchi Sky-X|{{#if:Sky-X|Sky-X|Alenia Aermacchi Sky-X}}]] designs with a new wing configuration. Quickslinger also has a third blaster-cannon mode that can be used by any toy that uses the 5 mm post/hole system.
Quickslinger was only available with her larger Deluxe-sized partner Lifeline as part of the fifth and final Transformers Figure Subscription Service. Quickslinger and Lifeline were released alongside Fractyl and Scorponok.
This mold was also used to make Thrilling 30 Eclipse, Legends Phaser, the drone jet component of BotCon 2015 Oilmaster, and TFSS 5.0 Hi-Q.

Notes

[edit]
  • Quickslinger is a transplanted-continuity version of Cybertron Quickslinger, also created by Shawn Tessmann.
  • Quickslinger's pack-in partner Lifeline is unable to hold her in her weapon mode. Lifeline was likely intended to use the 5 mm-compatible forearm pieces of Combiner Hunters Arcee to allow for this. The final line of Quickslinger's profile—"Lifeline, herself, never employs Quickslinger in this mode."—lacks the capitalized proper nouns FUN PUBLICATIONS utilized in their TRANSFORMERS® bios, a telltale sign of the sentence being a last minute addition.
