Rattletrap is an Autobot from the Animated continuity family.
Eh, boy. If it ain't the old fogies crawling up yer tailpipe, it's the mucous spoutin' organics.

Rattletrap is that one 'bot who will tell you anything if you "persuade" him enough. He's kind of a dirty rat when you think about it. He is apparently in a relationship with Botanica.<ref>Transformers Animated: The AllSpark Almanac II</ref>

Rattletrap apparently gave info on Omega Supreme's activation codes to Shockwave. He was later interrogated by Ratchet and Captain Fanzone, who threatened to slime him if he didn't give them access to a high-security infirmary on Cybertron. This threat proved effective, but the access key card Rattletrap provided turned out not to work. Ultimately it didn't matter, as Jazz had been tailing them the whole time, and let them in. Rattletrap swiped a replica of Optimus Prime's famous axe from the Stunt Convoy, but his attempts to sell it off as the genuine article got him arrested by Sideswipe and Cheetor for dealing in stolen goods. After being brought before Prime himself and forced to reveal the truth, he offered to trade information for his freedom by telling the cops about other illegal modifications he'd seen at the Stunt Convoy's place.
