The Transformers rampage through the Seeker's ship, and bring his threat to an end.

Synopsis

[edit]

As the six Transformers race through the corridors of the Seeker's ship, the disembodied entity offers them one last chance to join his collection of data. When they reject him, he declares that he will add their deaths to his archives, and begins bombarding them with more of his light-bullets. Hot Rod, Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge use their enhanced power to fight back, but soon realize that it's not just their strength levels that have changed! Cyclonus and Scourge have regained the powers they had in their former lives. allowing Cyclonus to teleport from the path of a hail of light-bullets and Scourge to shatter the corridor walls with a sonic boom, while Hot Rod has gained the ability to generate a protective forcefield with his arm-mounted buzzsaw, which he uses to shield Scrapheap and the injured Kup.

The battle continues to run throughout the ship, with more and more damage being inflicted, until the Seeker cries out for them to stop: for every piece of the ship that is destroyed, a portion of the information he has gathered is lost also. The illusory transparent quality of the corridors fades away as the information within them is erased, and through a gap in one of the walls, the Transformers can see both an Autobot and a Decepticon ship on the approach, having tracked the warp signature of the Seeker's craft. As the last of the ship breaks down, and the information within fades away, the last remaining image on a small monochrome screen is that of a Quintesson. Weakly, the Seeker laments the foolishness of the Transformers for sacrificing so much history, but Hot Rod retorts that while history may be important, there is nothing so valuable as the moment in which we live now, and the future that will come after. But the Seeker does not hear him... as the last of the information that embodies all that he is dissipates, and he is gone.

Notes

[edit]
  • In a controversial move, this story implicitly establishes that, in Japanese Generation 1 cartoon continuity, Cyclonus was formerly Skywarp, and Scourge was formerly Thundercracker. Now, that last one is not an issue, but as for Cyclonus, well... have you read his article?
