Rest-Q is an Autobot from the Wings Universe portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Who wants C'Pkaey'kes?

Rest-Q is the field medic for the Elite Guard's Recon Team and is often called upon to patch up other Guardsmen as well. Effective enough at his job, Rest-Q's bedside manner needs a little work. Of course, the fact that he can't communicate with his patients does affect his patience. Earlier in his career, Rest-Q suffered a blow to the head that permanently scrambled his speech center with a condition known as Foreign Vocalizer Syndrome. He can still speak perfectly clearly and in complete, grammatically correct sentences...just in some of the most obscure languages in the universe. Rest-Q is forced to rely on Crosscut, his Recon teammate and former diplomatic ambassador, to translate everything he says.<ref>From a set of Elite Guard character descriptions on the Club forums.</ref>

After Sprocket wound up getting the entire Cybertronian info-core dumped into his processor during one of his missions, Rest-Q recommended he be taken out of active duty. Powerflash fought against this, and succeeded in keeping Sprocket in the field. Sprocket's Wings of Honor profile

Rest-Q examined Powerflash and the Stealth Team after they were caught in the radiation of a mysterious meteor that left them unable to transform. He informed them through Crosscut that they would regain their transforming ability as soon as the radiation wore off. Rest-Q was already out the door before Crosscut translated the last part...that he didn't know WHEN the radiation might wear off. A Team Effort

Rest-Q was present at Elite Guard headquarters when the Combaticons invaded with Deathsaurus's Decepticon forces. He was destroyed along with the rest of the Guard battling the terrifying Bruticus combiner. The Coming Storm: Part 6

Rest-Q traveled with Cliffjumper and Subsea to Velocitron to investigate the disruption in the communication network. Rest-Q thought it was an overreaction, but Cliffjumper convinced the team to check out the situation. He was soon killed, along with the rest of the planet by Unicron. Unstopped and Unstoppable

Notes

[edit]
Jumpight fluate gruffen. Gurnswikel.
  • Physically, Rest-Q is based on a prototype version of the Generation 1 Mini Vehicle Hubcap seen in the Toy Fair 1986 catalogue. He is named after the Tonka GoBots character of the same name, a fellow medic who shares a vaguely similar white body/red face color scheme.
    • The G1 GoBots are also redecoed Mini Vehicles named after GoBots characters, three of them similarly based on prototype color schemes, but no fiction has ever connected Rest-Q to those characters.
  • Fun Publications editor Pete Sinclair initially nicknamed this character Cupcake before his name was finalized. In-fiction, Rest-Q got this nickname from his teammates after he tried to say his name once and it came out in Antillan.
